What is e-SIM technology?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital version of a traditional SIM card that is built directly into a device, unlike the physical SIM card. It allows devices to connect to mobile networks using software-based profiles that can be remotely provisioned and managed. This technology enables greater flexibility, convenience, and security for mobile connectivity.
How to activate the e-SIM?
- Ensure your phone supports eSIM technology by checking your phone's settings and searching for the eSIM option in the 'SIM Manager'.
- Or contact our call center “111” to ensure that your device is compatible with the eSIM service. If available, visit the nearest branch.
- Purchase the eSIM, pay the required fees, and you will receive a QR code to activate the service.
- Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Scan the QR code to download the line profile and network definitions on the eSIM.
- To activate the line, contact our call center “111” for user data validation, then line activation.
Steps to Convert a Physical SIM to an eSIM Using My WE App
- Ensure that your device supports eSIM technology.
- Make sure you are connected to mobile internet using the SIM you want to replace.
- Click on "Switch to eSIM" in the app (available below "More" or "New from WE" on the Home page).
- Confirm your email and accept the terms and conditions.
- A verification code will be sent to the SIM you are replacing.
- Take photos of your national ID (front and back).
- Enter your maternal grandfather's name in Arabic.
- The eSIM price will be displayed, and you can proceed with online payment.
- Before payment, ensure you are connected to Wi-Fi, as you will switch to it. After payment, your physical SIM will be deactivated.
- A QR code valid for 5 days will be sent to you after payment.
- Scan the QR code and follow the steps to download the eSIM profile.
- If you need to retrieve the QR code or send it to your email, you can access the eSIM page.

- 270 EGP for sim swap
Terms and Conditions:
- eSIM is available to individual mobile customers in case of new lines or sim swap.
- eSIM is available to Corporate mobile customers in case of sim swap only.
- Service activation is through scanning a QR code provided by visiting the nearest WE branch.
- Service is only available for compatible devices.
- eSIM Price is including taxes.
- Removing an eSIM Profile: If the eSIM profile is removed, the customer must visit a WE branch to request a replacement.
- Replacing an eSIM: Before downloading and activating the new eSIM profile, the customer must ensure that the old eSIM profile is removed from their mobile device.
- eSIM Profile Download Restrictions: The eSIM profile can only be downloaded within Egypt.
- QR Code Activation: The QR code for activating the eSIM profile is valid for one-time use only. It must be used within five (5) days from the date of signing the contract, replacing the eSIM, or switching from a traditional SIM to an eSIM.
- ESIM activation can be done only inside Egypt
